Hillman Engineering is the largest South Florida family-owned Engineering Firm. We have over 25 years of experience in Forensic Engineering. We are a company known for breathing new life and structural strength into older structures throughout Florida.

Hillman Engineering is actively searching for a Professional Engineer who can help solve critical concrete restoration and other building systems problems in numerous tall and medium-rise coastal apartment buildings located in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Experience in the restoration of existing buildings and structures performing forensic investigations, writing forensic reports, preparing specifications and drawings for repairs, and performing field observations.
  • Be “hands-on” and be completely responsible for evaluating numerous mid to high-rise buildings with the main purpose of extensively investigating their building to determine what and where the critical structural problems are located.
  • Prepare Phase-1 structural deficiency/evaluation Forensic reports after gathering all the relevant data on each structure that clearly identifies all problems that are of relevance to common or unique structural problems.
  • Prepare engineering cost estimates, engineering calculations, and coordination of structural design with other engineering disciplines.
  • Work with Project Managers to oversee the successful correct construction and installation of new restoration concrete and other critical building elements until the job has been closed-out.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree from ABET accredited school with a focus on Structural Analysis.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
  • Knowledge of structural design and construction of reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, aluminum, and wood structures.
  • Knowledge of current building design codes and standards.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • ProCore experience is a plus.
