At Dunster House Condominiums, located at 360 S Ocean Blvd in Palm Beach, Florida, Hillman Engineering spearheaded comprehensive structural concrete restoration works designed to remediate decades of coastal exposure. Given the building’s prime oceanfront positioning, the reinforced concrete elements—including structural columns, post-tensioned slabs, and cantilevered balcony overhangs—were vulnerable to salt-air corrosion and spalling. Hillman Engineering designed precision repair protocols involving concrete hydro-demolition, rebar passivating and reinforcement, structural patch repair, and high-performance penetrating corrosion inhibitors to ensure long-term structural integrity and compliance with rigorous Florida building codes.

To preserve and protect the coastal structure, Hillman Engineering executed an extensive facade and building envelope restoration project tailored to the boutique luxury condominium. The scope addressed the entire exterior shell, focusing on sealing perimeter joints, mitigating moisture intrusion, and applying high-performance elastomeric exterior coatings designed to withstand severe weather and UV degradation. Through detailed waterproofing inspections, sealant replacement, and masonry remediation, the restoration successfully fortified the building against water ingress while vastly improving thermal and environmental performance across the exterior skin.
