Henry C. Hillman

P.E., S.I., Founder

Henry C. Hillman, the Founder of Hillman Engineering, has been a Registered Professional Engineer since 1968 and a Land Surveyor since 1965. He’s active in the states of Florida, Colorado, and Ohio. Adding to his credentials, he was awarded a license as a Special Inspector for the state of Florida and has been a licensed General Contractor since 1968 in numerous states. He is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a BSCE, MSCE, and an Architectural Engineering degree.

Henry has held a Florida Professional Engineering License for over 40 years and is well known throughout South Florida as a leader in the Engineering industry. Henry is the firm’s lead and senior engineer. In addition to design, Henry is the Lead Engineer for litigation support and has been an expert witness for many South Florida law firms.

Kevin DuBrey

President

Kevin DuBrey began his construction career in Upstate New York working for a General Contractor on multifamily residential properties during the summers. After a short career in high-speed locomotive assembly, Kevin decided construction was his passion and once again began working for a General Contractor doing public sector work throughout the New England area, as well as New Jersey. Starting in the field performing hands-on work, Kevin quickly worked his way up the company ladder to a Project Manager position.

Kevin would come to Florida in 2006 to continue his career as a Project Manager in the public sector. While working full time, Kevin would earn an Associate in Business and eventually change his major to engineering pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from Florida Atlantic University. Kevin is currently a Licensed State of Florida Certified General Contractor.

Matthew Nolan

Executive Project Manager & General Manager

Matthew Nolan serves as a Project Manager for Hillman Engineering, Inc.  He received his BS in Business and Economics from Towson University and the London School of Economics before becoming Vice President and General Manager for the largest Foreign Trade Zone operator in the State of North Carolina. His background includes over 25 years of managing large commercial and industrial projects, real estate holdings, and operations on five continents within North America, Europe, Africa, South & Latin America and China.

Projects have included new design-build construction of more than 14,000,000 sf. Current projects include recertifications and renovations of numerous large multi-tower condominiums within South Florida. Duties include permit facilitation, Building Official liaison, Board of Directors reports, and Contract and Schedules.

Michael Santangelo

Director Of Project Management

Michael came to Hillman Engineering in the early part of 2023 with extensive knowledge of the restoration industry. Michael had joined our team from one of the premier concrete and restoration companies in the country. He has spent 10+ years as a Project Manager in commercial restoration and new construction, ranging in all aspects of management and production.  He has worked in various geographic environments such as New York City, Pittsburgh, New Jersey, and Florida completing new construction projects, restoration, and preservation throughout. For the past ten years, Michael has been involved in consulting, operations, production, and financing aspects of the construction industry. 

He brings background knowledge of the construction industry including waterproofing, material product knowledge, means and methods, project management, finance, and material suppliers/distributors.  Michael also has been a part of organizations such as ICRI and BOMA maintaining knowledge of new technologies and laws while also working with local building departments to ensure building owners’ compliance.

Diogo Marinho

P.E., Inspector Supervisor

Diogo Marinho holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Military Institute of Engineering (IME – Brazil) and a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC/RJ – Brazil). He has more than 15 years experience as an independent engineer performing structural calculations and managing construction projects for the Brazilian Army.

James Wells, A.I.A.

Architect

James Wells obtained a BA (A.B. Cum Laude) and a Master’s (M. Arch) in Architecture from Princeton University, and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. In addition to being licensed to practice architecture in the state of Florida, he is also nationally certified by NCARB and is licensed to practice in 4 other states as well.

He has an extensive background in design, detailing, inspecting, and managing architectural projects in several sectors including commercial, multifamily, residential, medical / healthcare, schools, airports, and even in the hospitality industry. James likes to see the big picture. Being a Senior Construction Project Manager, he has keen attention to detail from start to finish on every project he is involved with.

Dan Breazeale

Architect

Dan Breazeale has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Houston and obtained his initial registration as a Texas Registered Architect in 1986 (Texas #11442, current). Throughout the evolution of his career, Dan has always emphasized attention to construction detail as it relates to and supports the “big picture” of construction and renovation projects.

He leverages his extensive knowledge and use of AutoCAD (previously teaching AutoCAD at Broward College North Campus) to efficiently produce concise construction documentation pursuant to the issuance of bidding and permit drawing sets for approval from Broward and Miami-Dade County Building Departments. Dan also compiles our extensive library of NOA’s that are applicable to building codes for project permitting.

M. Bülent Özturan

P.E., Construction Engineering Inspector

Bulent holds a BS degree in Mechanical and Marine Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, where he also earned an MSc and MBA degree. He has been residing in South Florida since 2013. He is a Florida licensed Professional Engineer. 

Bulent holds a Level 2 Thermographer license which is required by Miami Dade County to prepare 25/40 years electrical inspection reports. Bulent is responsible for the electrical/mechanical part of the milestone inspections of Hillman’s projects.  He is also producing preliminary structural and mechanical designs for Hillman Engineering’s restoration projects.

Raymark Clement

Construction Engineering Inspector

Raymark Clement has a BS in Civil Engineering, a Construction Project Coordination Certificate, and 30 Hours OSHA Certification from Florida Atlantic University. He also possesses certificates for Asphalt Paving Level I and Level II under the Florida Department of Transportation’s Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP), Level I for unbonded PT Installation, and Level II for unbonded PT Inspector from the Post Tensioning Institute. He has worked in a wide range of construction projects including, but not limited to, underground utilities and concrete restoration.

Raymark has extensive experience inspecting construction sites and materials to ensure that the work meets quality standards, building codes, and specifications. He works full-time hours, independently within the framework of a team, reporting primarily to the Engineer of Records and Project Managers.
